The workshop is intended to bring together leading scientists in the field of non-linear X-ray techniques using free-electron lasers. The discussions are supposed to center around how such novel techniques can be brought to impactful scientific applications and are sorted into four methodological sessions:

- X-ray transient gratings,
- methods applying Chi(2) processes (sum- / difference frequency generation)
- methods applying Chi(3) processes, other than transient gratings
- overarching visions for the field.

An intended outcome of the workshop is to produce a whitepaper highlighting scientific goals of the method developments and the needs for instruments and beam parameters to achieve the broadest and most impactful applications. Discussions might also lead to the formulation of a long-term proposal at European XFEL.

This Workshop is co-organised by COST Action NEXT CA22148, supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), and EuXFEL .

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.

The participation is free of charge.
